IT
increases Wide Area Network speeds across campus
Information Technology Services is pleased to announce that our
Wide Area Network speeds have increased from 45Mbps to 200 Mbps
for our academic and administrative circuit. In addition,
the Resnet circuit has increased from 34 Mbps to 100 Mbps. Both
of these upgrades were obtained through a bid process that resulted
in a substantial decrease in our internet connectivity costs while
providing increased connection speeds. If you have a question,
you may contact jeboyd@tntech.edu

Get
Back with Tech this Summer Through Service
Tech aims to live up to its vision of T-E-C-H (which
stands for technological leadership, enrollment growth, a caring
campus, and high quality). Part of being a caring campus is service
learning projects students do throughout the school year. But service
does not end with the school year. Tech is leading local service
projects in counties close to campus throughout the summer. “Get
Back with Tech” allows students and people from the surrounding
counties to team up over the summer and help the community. Projects
are planned in four counties over the summer months.
River Clean Up July 18: In Warren County, volunteers will work with Rotary Friends of the River on a clean-up of the Barren Fork River from Pepper Branch Park down river to Rocket Park. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Enjoy a 2-mile float and clean up the environment. Fun time for all. Volunteers should bring a life jacket and boats/canoes if possible. Boats and life jackets will also be provided. Work begins on July 18, with registration starting at 8:30 am at Pepper Branch Park in McMinnville. We will meet at Pepper Branch Park, McMinnville, on the day of the event at 8:30 a.m., and should be done by 2 p.m. that afternoon. Open to staff, students, and Tech alumni or friends.
In Macon County, volunteers will help at the Post-Secondary
Education Team to help with basic computer training, resume building
and job applications. Five to ten volunteers are needed per
shift. Work begins on July 25. The morning shift is 9 am to noon.
The afternoon shift is 1 pm to 4 pm.
Please contact the Service Center, 372-6120, or the
Center Director 372-3069, for more details and to sign up with your
friends for one or all of the dates. Get Back with Tech this summer
and make a difference!
