THE WOLVES

Auditions - Tuesday  NOV  16th from 7pm-10pm

By Sarah DeLappe

The Story:
Pulitzer Prize finalist The Wolves is the debut play of up-and-coming playwright Sarah DeLappe.
Featuring an all-female cast (comprised of nine adolescents and one briefly-seen adult), The Wolves chronicles six Saturday mornings in the lives of a soccer team somewhere in suburban America as they prepare for their games. The girls discuss everything from genocide to menstrual cycles to drugs to boys to literature to each other, and a group of girls whom at first seem indistinguishable as each is referred to by only her number and all are clad in the same jersey only bearing her number quickly become identifiable and different. In the course of six short weeks, the Wolves deal with love, loss, and identity in ways that real teenagers do.

The Fantasticks!

Book and lyrics by Tom Jones, Music by Harvey Schmidt.

Suggested by a play called “Les Romanesques” by Edmund Rostand.

Directed by Mark Harry Creter

Music Direction by Mendy Richards

Auditions will take place at the Backdoor Playhouse.

Acting and Singing auditions on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Callbacks on Saturday, September 11, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (as needed)

Principle roles (both men and women) available for 8 performers (18-50). *

*Originally the production called for 6 men and 1-2 woman. Our production is going to be more flexible with gender. The fathers could be mothers, or one father and one mother, The Old Actor and the The Man Who Dies could be woman, even El Gallo could be a woman. Ultimately, I believe the show can be mounted with any combination of male and female actors. Also, your age is not important as you will be actors playing characters therefore a young actor can play the “Old” actor.

AVAILABLE ROLES:

  1. The Narrator (m/f)
  2. The Boy’s Father (Mother) (m/f)
  3. El Gallo (m/f)
  4. The Girl’s Father (Mother) (m/f)
  5. The Girl (f)
  6. The Old Actor (m/f)
  7. The Boy (m)
  8. The Man Who Dies (m/f)
  9. The Mute (m/f)

You do not need to be a Tennessee Tech student to audition or to be cast.

Minority actors are strongly encouraged.

Interested performers should prepare 16 bars of any song for their singing audition, acting auditions will consist of cold-reading and improvisation.
