Pre-Occupational Therapy Career Track
Two Occupational Therapy Programs in the state of Tennessee offer Doctoral Programs while the others offer a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy. All of these require a Bachelor of Science degree prior to admission. All have a list of specific courses that must be completed prior to admission, which include anatomy and physiology and statistics. Other courses requirements or recommendations that vary with the school are psychology, speech, social science, humanities, general chemistry, biology, physics and medical terminology. Programs also require the Graduate Records Exam (GRE) and job shadowing, observation, or work experience in an occupational therapy setting.
While pursuing a bachelor's degree at Tennessee Tech, occupational therapy career track students will also incorporate pre-requisite courses required by occupational therapy schools. Graduate professional schools accept many majors, so students are encouraged to explore a major according to their interests and strengths.
