Bio
Dr. Wiant’s teaching interests include corporate finance and real estate, and is developing
a start-up business finance curriculum. He has researched the implications of business
decisions on value, technology and pedagogy in finance instruction, and is current
conducting research in startup financing.
Professionally, Dr. Wiant also serves on the Board of Directors of a startup pharmaceutical firm as well as serving as their Chief Financial Officer.
During Dr. Wiant's thirty-year career as a professor of finance, he has served his institutions with over twelve years in administrative and professional leadership roles at the college and university level. These roles include Associate Dean, Associate Vice President for Finance, Campus Vice President (campus executive), Director of TTU's Technology Institute (now CITL), Interim Dean of the College of Business, and Interim Department Chair of Computer Science in TTU's College of Engineering.
Prior to earning his Ph.D. in 1991, Ken was a commercial lender and banking center manager for a large Florida bank, and served in the U.S. Air Force (1975-1979) as a crew chief of the F-4 Phantom II fighter aircraft.
