Damon received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sculpture from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York and his Master of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

MacNaught specializes in the millefiori glass paperweight tradition. He says, “I find the technical challenges of this niche art form rewarding. The process of arranging murrini under the magnification of the glass dome speaks to properties inherent in the material and allows an outlet to exercise my love of design.”

MacNaught has been teaching in higher education for the past twenty years, and has been practicing hot glass production since establishing his studio, Bareglass, in 1997.  Damon’s work has been exhibited and presented both nationally and internationally.

MacNaught currently lives and works on his farm in Silver Point, TN.
