Tennessee Tech Student Influences the Future of Agribusiness
Rural Reimagined is excited to spotlight Tennessee Tech student Chris Heflin’s beneficial work for the southeastern agricultural community as he has partnered with AgLaunch. AgLaunch is “a non-profit organization that utilizes a farm-centric innovation platform to efficiently bring new ideas into agriculture.” Over the past few months, Chris has worked diligently alongside Rural Reimagined and AgLaunch to compile agricultural data from the southeastern U.S., including here in Putnam County, and create visual representations of the information. By using these visualizations, Chris facilitates the increased understanding and intuition of his audience, allowing local farmers, businesspeople, and other agricultural decision-makers to acknowledge current trends. Chris’ innovative entrepreneurial work will largely influence and expand the future of agribusiness!
Chris explains that this experience has created several connections between his academics
and real-world applications. Chris states, “Working with Rural Reimagined has allowed
me to apply the skills I’ve learned here at Tennessee Tech to real world problems,
which has given me valuable experience as I begin my career.”
By combining his skills and academic experience with his innovative ideas, Chris has
made a lasting impact on something he is passionate about. If you would like to learn
