Tennessee Tech Goes on the Road with Tech to You Events

Students walk on Tennessee Tech's campus

Tennessee Tech is bringing all the excitement and energy of the fall recruitment season on the road with special Tech to You events planned statewide.

“These events are tailored for high school students and families that can’t necessarily come to an open house or campus visit,” said Director of Admissions Steve Keller. “Instead, we bring Tech to them right in their hometowns. Our admissions counselors set up at a local venue with plenty of information about the university and even bring a piece of Cookeville with them to share – the world-famous Ralph’s Donuts.”

The Tech to You event series kicks off on Oct. 26 in Murfreesboro with admissions staff next traveling to Chattanooga on Oct. 28. Additional dates include Nov. 1 in Franklin and Nov. 2 in Knoxville, as well as Nov. 2 in Mount Juliet. Students and their families can register to attend by visiting tntech.edu/techtoyou.

Tennessee Tech’s Fall 2022 application for admission opened in August with the priority scholarship deadline set for Dec. 15. For traditional high school students, the primary undergraduate admission requirement is based on their high school GPA with some programs and scholarships requiring ACT or SAT test scores. The important thing for students to remember is to apply early in their senior year to qualify for Tech scholarships and to have the needed time to go through the admissions process and checklists for enrollment.

The university also recently launched the new Presidential Scholars freshmen scholarship program that gives more scholarships to more students – guaranteed. This program offers guaranteed scholarships to high school students with good to great grades and test scores. Students just need to submit their application for admissions by Dec. 15 and meet the qualifications. Students can apply by visiting tntech.edu/apply.

Tennessee Tech is ranked as a “Best National University” by U.S. News & World Report. The university offers more than 200-plus programs of study, and Tech grads leave with the least debt of all public universities in the state. In fact, based on total cost and alumni earnings, Tech provides students with the highest return on investment for any public university in Tennessee, according to PayScale.
