Tennessee Tech Partners with Tennessee Titans on Annual Learning Lab Series
Tennessee Tech has joined with the Tennessee Titans as the team’s education partner, presenting the 10th Annual Learning Lab series of events that take place at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
The Learning Lab events offer high school students an opportunity to go behind-the-scenes and learn about the inner workings of an NFL team. The series kicked off during the second week of October with two more events planned on Oct. 26 and Nov. 9.
“Our partnership on these events with the Tennessee Titans really gives us the opportunity to show high school students what kind of programs and majors that Tech offers that align with the management of a professional sports team,” said Bobbie Maynard, executive director of communications and marketing at Tech. “Our programs in exercise science, sport management and business, among others, are all great programs for students if they want to pursue this kind of career.”
As part of the Learning Lab event, high school students receive a tour of Nissan Stadium and attend presentations and question and answer sessions with Titans executives. Tennessee Tech admissions counselors are also on hand to answer any questions and interact with the students. The students also receive a free gameday ticket, provided by the Titans, to come back to the stadium for their game with the Dolphins in January. More than 3,000 students are expected to attend the Learning Lab series. Registration is already closed for the event.
Tennessee Tech is ranked as a “Best National University” by U.S. News & World Report. The university offers more than 200-plus programs of study, and Tech grads leave with the least debt of all public universities in the state. In fact, based on total cost and alumni earnings, Tech provides students with the highest return on investment for any public university in Tennessee, according to PayScale.
