Tennessee Tech University is making it easier than ever for students to explore all the opportunities it has to offer, right in their hometowns. Tech to You events are back with new features this year, including scholarship offers and guaranteed housing for new first-time freshmen.

"Tech to You events are the perfect opportunity for us to reach out to students and families where they live,” said Tech’s Director of Admissions Frank Tittle. “Our admissions counselors and university recruitment team will set up at local venues, armed with a wealth of information about the university. New this year is that we will be able to award scholarships through our Presidential Scholars program to students who meet the criteria, as well as the opportunity for guaranteed housing for new first-time freshmen if they apply and are admitted before the spring deadline."

Designed to cater to high school students and their families who may not be able to attend traditional open houses or campus visits, Tech to You events bring the university's offerings directly to the community. The Tech to You event series is set to kick off on Oct. 17 in Mount Juliet, followed by a stop in Chattanooga on Oct. 19. An additional date is scheduled for Oct. 24 in Knoxville with more stops planned for later this fall. Students and their families can register to attend these events by visiting tntech.edu/techtoyou. There is no cost to attend.

Tennessee Tech's fall 2024 application for admission opened in August, with the priority scholarship deadline set for Dec. 15. Admission requirements for traditional high school students are primarily based on their high school GPA, though some programs and scholarships may require ACT or SAT test scores. It's crucial for students to apply early in their senior year to be eligible for Tech scholarships and to ensure they have ample time to complete the admissions process and enrollment checklists. Application details can be found at tntech.edu/apply.

Tennessee Tech University is ranked as a "Best National University" by U.S. News & World Report. With over 200 academic programs, Tech provides its graduates with the lowest debt burden among all public universities in the state. In fact, based on a combination of total cost and alumni earnings, Tech offers students the highest return on investment of any public university in Tennessee, according to PayScale.
