Tennessee Tech earns top rankings from University HQ

Tennessee Tech University has once again been ranked as a best university by an independent ratings source. University HQ, an industry-leading
educational organization, rated Tech among the top institutions across more than a
half-dozen categories in its 2024 rankings.
According to the site, Tech is rated among the top bachelor’s, master’s, accounting,
Master of Business Administration and online degree programs in the state of Tennessee,
among others. Tech’s College of Business was also rated as the top finance degree
program among all public universities in the state.
In other categories, Tech’s College of Education & Human Sciences was home to the
top online master’s degree program in physical education in the state and one of the
top 10 in the entire country.
“Students know that, when they choose Tennessee Tech, they are getting a world-class
education at an affordable cost from a university that puts them at the center of
every decision we make,” said Tech President Phil Oldham. “That’s why we just welcomed
another near-record sized freshman class and are up again year-over-year in total
enrollment. We are proud to see continued recognition of our commitment to putting
students first.”
University HQ’s 2024 rankings follow previous recognition from U.S. News & World Report, which rated Tech among the state’s top five universities
overall and top two public universities.
More recently, Tech was ranked as providing the highest return on investment and the highest early career pay of
any public university in the state by Payscale, a leading compensation software and
data company, and rated among the top 250 graduate schools in the nation by Abound, a college guidance system
for degree-seeking adults.
University HQ’s website explains that “Tennessee Tech takes great pride in the strength
of its academic programs, with a particular focus on STEM degrees.” It goes on to
say, “With its focus on excellence and welcoming community atmosphere, Tennessee Tech
continues to attract talented individuals seeking an exceptional education experience.”
