Renowned jazz guitarist Tom Wolfe will perform songs from his quartet s new album Nov. 19 and Nov. 20 at Tennessee Tech University. The Tom Wolfe Quartet s latest album features various musicians, including Ken Watters, trumpet; Tim Goodwin, bass and Danny Gottlieb, drums. Wolfe has performed for more than 30 years and is one of the top jazz educators to come from the Southeast. One of the most prolific jazz guitarists and educators emanating out of the Southeastern region of the United States, said Glenn Astarita, modern jazz editor at AllAboutJazz.com Wolfe, director of jazz studies at the University of Alabama School of Music, has performed in garage bands, school bands and in church. At age 17, he began performing professionally and earned his bachelor s degree from Capital University s jazz program. He attended graduate school at Eastman School of Music. He will present two concerts at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 and Nov. 20 in Wattenbarger Auditorium, which is in the Bryan Fine Arts Building, 1150 N. Dixie Ave. The concerts are free and open to the public.
