UBUS 1020
WHAT IS UBUS?
UBUS is an introductory course for new freshman to aid with getting acquainted to Tennessee Tech, the College of Business, and the city of Cookeville. In this class, students will recognize and build their strengths, create their first college resume, and learn the best ways to get involved. Each section is equipped with an instructor as well as a peer mentor to create the best environment for cultivating involvement. The goal of this course is to create a firm foundation for students to continue to build upon as they progress through their collegiate careers.
Meet the Mentors
The success of UBUS would not be possible without the willingness and hard work of the many peer mentors. A peer mentor’s role is to assist in all aspects of the course, particularly in ensuring students get involved on campus. Below are the peer mentors for the 2024 school year.
CliftonStrengths
In order to identify a student’s top strengths, the UBUS course utilizes CliftonStrengths created by Gallup. This application allows students to take a brief test after which will reveal their top 5 strengths. The combination of these 5 strengths is unique in each and every person and gives each student a visual of their natural abilities and what they should focus on perfecting as they continue through their schooling.
