Mission

The mission of Student-Athlete Wellness Advising is to support the overall well-being of Tennessee Tech student-athletes. The Student-Athlete Wellness Advising team provides educational services, programming, and resources focused on various dimensions of wellness, including social, emotional, intellectual, physical, financial, occupational, spiritual, and environmental. The team offers walk-in wellness advising and educational programs to empower Tennessee Tech student-athletes to take an active and engaging approach towards their well-being, contributing to a healthy and purposeful collegiate experience.

About Walk-In Wellness Advising

Walk-In Wellness Advising provides a collaborative, strengths-based, and non-judgmental partnership that uses a holistic approach to wellness. Our main goal is to explore wellness dimensions, set achievable wellness objectives, teach wellness skills, and connect you with the resources you need on campus.

Our sessions are typically 15-30 minutes long, and you will meet with experienced and trained faculty and graduate students from the Department of Counseling & Psychology. We will hold our meetings in a private location within the Academic Wellness Center (AWC).

During a wellness advising meeting, we will help you explore different dimensions of wellness, identify your specific wellness goals, develop skills to thrive as a student-athlete, and help you become more aware of the available resources on campus. We also provide referral services to specialized on-campus services available to student-athletes.

Eligibility

Currently registered/enrolled TN Tech student-athletes are eligible for Student-Athlete Wellness Advising educational and programming activities at no cost.  Participation is voluntary and can be discontinued by a student-athlete at any time without notice.
