Academic Programs

At Tennessee Tech, civil and environmental engineering students get a solid foundation in the fundamentals of engineering while developing real-world engineering and research skills.

Undergraduates receive a strong foundation in mathematics, chemistry, physics and engineering mechanics. During the last two years of your undergraduate program, you will develop more in-depth expertise in selected areas of emphasis, including transportation, construction materials, structural engineering, structural mechanics, environmental, and water resources. Through cooperative education, a senior capstone project, internships and undergraduate research opportunities, you will learn to be a creative thinker and problem solver.

For graduate students,  each of the major focus areas are complemented with active research programs, and a significant number of graduate research and teaching assistantships are funded through externally sponsored research and departmental resources.
