The logo for the Center for Energy Systems Research provides an easy to recognize
symbol to represent the Center. The lightning bolt signifies the flow of electricity
and the flame indicates the energy associated with it; together they represent an
"Energy System". The logo heralds the in-depth research that is being carried out
in the Center and the knowledge gained from this research that will be disseminated
throughout the world. The research will also be directed towards finding practical
solutions to the many problems faced by the energy industry. The logo can also be
likened to a torch that represents the illuminating process of research.
