The Department of Biology offers Master's of Science degree program that provides students with the hands-on experience they need to conduct research, along with guidance and mentorship to attain careers in their desired fields. Graduate research includes all aspects of biology, with projects that span molecular, organismal, ecological, and evolutionary perspectives. The Masters of Science degree in Biology has a thesis requirement.
Admissions Requirements
The Master of Science in Biology program applicants, in addition to the standard required materials, must also meet one of the following two requirements:

- Undergraduate GPA: must be a minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale OR an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 in all Biology, Wildlife Fisheries Science, and related courses;
- GRE score: the Combined Quantitative and Verbal Revised GRE score must total at least 300, and a minimum Analytical Writing score of 3.0.
If you do not meet either of these requirements, you can be considered for provisional admission through an appeal to the Department of Biology Graduate Policies Committee.
