Degree Details

In many ways similar, and in many ways very different from ourselves, plants establish the basis of our global ecosystems. A Biology major with a Botany concentration facilitates exploration of these dynamic organisms that are actively engaging with their environment. A Botany concentration prepares graduates for diverse careers through exploration of plant anatomy, growth and development, molecular biology, physiological perception of environmental change, plant ecology, and speciation across evolutionary time. Students gain hands-on exposure to sophisticated techniques while applying them to real-world problems in biodiversity studies, conservation, and sustainability.
