Degree Details

The focus of the Family Nurse Practitioner program is to prepare registered nurses with a specialized educational and clinical training in family practice. Our MSN-FNP program is a fully online, 45 credit hour degree that includes all coursework required to seek Advanced Practice licensure as an FNP. Course loads are flexible and most students complete the program in 7-8 semesters/2-2.5 years of enrollment with two courses a semester. Courses are taught completely by our graduate nursing faculty and clinical hour requirements are completed with preceptors local to your area.

Admissions Requirements

Students seeking admission to online Nursing graduate program are required to have:

    1. Eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state in which clinical assignments are completed
    2. Undergraduate GPA: at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (for provisional admission, students must have at least 2.75 and meet all other requirements)
    3. Graduate GPA: at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
    4. A written document prepared by the applicant that includes a resume, a discussion of prior professional experience, future career goals, and reasons for pursuing graduate study.
    5. Letters of Recommendation: at least three letters from persons familiar with the applicant's academic and professional background and experience in nursing practice, specifying in detail the applicant's capabilities for graduate study and for future practice as an advanced practice nurse.
