The Training and Development concentration equips leaders for the growing and evolving field of workplace learning and performance. Students build both theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in adult learning and cognition, organizational needs analysis, project planning, instructional design, development, and delivery/evaluation in traditional and virtual environments. Graduates are ready to manage, deliver and assess on-site performance-based training, instructional design, and address the needs of human resource managers and other professionals who are increasingly relying on technology to deliver workforce education. This degree also contains an embedded certificate in Training and Development.
Admissions Requirements
In the Master of Professional Studies degree, there are several concentrations available. Students seeking admission to all of the Professional Studies graduate programs are required to have:

- Undergraduate GPA: at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- As well as one of the following conditions:
- Undergraduate GPA: at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- GRE: a score of at least 146 on the verbal portion and 144 on the quantitative portion; or a combined score of 290 on the verbal and quantitative reasoning sections and at least a 3.5 in analytical writing
- Professional Work Experience: at least five years of professional work experience demonstrated through a portfolio (see further details below)
