Degree Details

Majoring in Secondary Education with a concentration in Chemistry (grades 6-12) is an excellent career choice. The curriculum is designed to provide graduates with a foundation of teaching skills, the use of instructional technology, coupled with in-depth content knowledge in field of chemistry.

Students in licensure programs also engage in extensive clinical experiences in public schools for hands-on training, professional collaboration, and classroom management. The love of learning, the desire to help others realize their full potential, and the responsibility of preparing students to enter college or the workforce are often motivators for those who teach at the secondary level.

Our college offers a wealth of educational resources from the VISION Virtual Learning Lab, the Jeffers Learning Resources Center, to the Millard Oakley STEM Center.
