Tennessee Tech University is thrilled to renew its partnership with the Tennessee Titans, reaffirming its role as the team's exclusive higher education partner. Together, they are excited to announce the commencement of the 12th annual Learning Lab series, hosted at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Learning Lab events are a unique opportunity for high school students to delve into the intricacies of an NFL team's operations, getting an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience. This year's series begins on Oct. 3, with further events scheduled for Oct. 31 and Nov. 14.

“We are so excited to be hosting this event series again with the Tennessee Titans,” said Shanna Muncy, director of marketing promotions and events at Tech. “What we love most is how these events give us the opportunity to show high school students the various programs and majors that Tech offers that align with the management of a professional sports team, along with all the behind-the-scenes business work and marketing.”

Muncy added that Tech’s programs in exercise science and physical education and wellness, as well as sport management, pre-athletic training and business, among others, are all great opportunities for students wanting to pursue a career with a professional sports team. Tech also offers several pre-professional degree programs for the health sciences career tracks, including pre-physical therapy and pre-medicine.

“Tech’s mantra of ‘Wings Up’ and the Titans’ slogan of ‘Titan Up’ just go together,” said Muncy. “They both convey that if you are confident, determined and passionate, then these are the two places you want to be – on Tech’s campus and cheering on the Titans on gameday.”

As part of the Learning Lab series, high school students receive a tour of Nissan Stadium and attend presentations and question and answer sessions with Titans executives. Tennessee Tech admissions counselors are also on hand to answer any questions and interact with the students. The students receive a free gameday ticket, provided by the Titans, to come back to the stadium for a game later this season. More than 5,000 students are expected to attend the Learning Lab series.

Tennessee Tech is ranked as a “Best National University” by U.S. News & World Report. The university offers more than 200 programs of study and Tech grads leave with the least debt of all public universities in the state. In fact, based on total cost and alumni earnings, Tech provides students with the highest return on investment for any public university in Tennessee, according to PayScale.
