story thumb

The event is supported by local patrons who contribute cash awards to the top four competitors. These patrons include S.K. Ballal, Chris McCall, Rodney Carlson and Hope High. The competition is open to students in grades 9-12. Rules, requirements and applications are available at the Tennessee Tech School of Music website: www.tntech.edu/music.

Our piano competition has become a major musical event in the region: some of the most gifted young pianists perform for three distinguished judges, said Catherine Godes, competition coordinator and professor of piano at Tech.

The competition will begin at 10 a.m. and is open to the public. Local piano teachers, students, parents and all those who love the piano are encouraged to come to hear these young musicians.
