The Office of the Provost furthers Tennessee Tech's academic mission by providing the leadership, support, and services that enable the intellectual and personal growth of our students, faculty, staff, and the academic community.
The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is the chief academic officer
of the University. All academic and related units, including the colleges, the library,
the honors program, global experiences, and military science report to the Provost.
Supporting units such as institutional research and assessment, the Center for Advancing
Faculty Excellence, and the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning also report
to the Provost. Additionally, the Provost administers the budgets and oversees campus
space allocations for these units.
The Provost oversees academic and budgetary policy and priorities, ensures the quality of the student body, and maintains educational excellence. In addition, the Provost also has oversight responsibility for issues associated with the recruiting, hiring, retention, and performance of faculty and academic administrators and for the University's promotion and tenure process.
