Spring Orientation FAQs

⪢ Is spring orientation required? (top of page)

Yes, all new freshmen and transfer students admitted for the Spring term must complete the Spring Online Orientation. This is a required step in your enrollment process and it will provide you with important information regarding resources and opportunities to help you be successful. The online orientation is a self-paced, online orientation, so you can do it at your own convenience! But it must be completed prior to the first day of classes.

⪢ I've already been admitted. When will I receive information about Spring Orientation? (top of page)

If you've already been admitted to Tennessee Tech, you can expect to begin receiving information about orientation and enrollment next steps in late October-early November. This information will include detailed instructions on how to register for the online orientation.

⪢ Is there an in-person orientation option for Spring? (top of page)

No. The Spring Orientation is only offered in the self-paced, online format.

⪢ How do I get advised and registered for classes? (top of page)

After you've completing the online orientation, students will receive an email with information regarding course advisement and registration. Advisement for new students will begin in mid-November and continue through mid-January. Students must be admitted before making an advising appointment.

We strongly encourage students to complete their orientation prior to scheduling and advisement appointment. Please keep in mind that Spring classes will start on January 16, 2025, and university offices will be closed for the winter holidays from December 24 - January 1 so don't wait until the last minute. Visit the Spring Advisement & Registration page for departmental contact information.

⪢ I completed orientation. What do I do next? (top of page)

Once you've completed orientation, you'll receive an email with a completion certificate and next steps for enrollment. You can also check out our What's Next Enrollment Checklist for more information.

⪢ I no longer plan on attending Tech. What do I need to do? (top of page)

Students who no longer plan on attending Tech should complete the Update Application Form (click here). If you are unable to access this form please call the Office of Admissions (931) 372-3888 or the Office of New Student & Family Programs (931) 372-3245 and we will be able to assist you with your decision.

⪢ Will I need to pay my tuition after completing orientation (top of page)

Students will need to confirm their schedules and pay their tuition/fees by 11:59pm (central) by January 14, 2025 for the Spring 2025 semester. For more information regarding how to confirm enrollment and pay tuition & fees visit the Bursar's Office website. Students who do not pay & confirm by the above deadlines will have their schedules purged and will be required to re-register for the upcoming semester.
