- » Who is my advisor?
Your advisor is assigned to you based on your major. In the College of Education & Human Sciences Student Success Center, we only advise undergraduate students. You can go to the Staff page on the College of Education & Human Sciences Student & Human Sciences Success Center website to find out who will be your advisor. Teacher licensure candidates pursuing a graduate degree are advised within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. You can schedule an appointment with your advisor by going to TechConnect.
- » What is the 2+2 Program?
The 2 + 2 Program in the College of Education & Human Sciences offers on-site delivery of the third and fourth years of teacher licensure programs at surrounding community colleges, and is designed to mirror the quality of on-campus classes while increasing accessibility. Currently, the Elementary Education concentration is offered at Pellissippi State, Motlow State, Roane State, and Chattanooga. The Secondary Education Chemistry and Math programs are only offered at the Roane State Oak Ridge campus.
- » How do I get my Alternate Pin?In order to obtain an Alternate Pin, you are required to meet with your advisor at least once each fall and spring semester. This process is to ensure that you are on-track within your program of study. You can schedule an appointment with your advisor by going to TechConnect.
- » I lost my Alternate Pin; how do I find it?
Once you have been advised for the semester and registered for courses, you can access your Alternate Pin in Eagle Online by doing the following:
1. Login to Eagle Online.
2. Click on the “Student” tab or menu.
3. Click on “Registration.”
4. Click on “Select Term” and choose the correct semester.
5. Click on “View Banner ID (T#), Registration Times, Advisor, Post Office Box/Combination, Confirmation Information.” and you should find your Alternate Pin there. - » How do I add or drop a course, once the semester begins?At the beginning of each semester (normally the first few days in fall and spring semesters), students may add or drop courses through Eagle Online in the same manner as before the semester began. After the first few days of a fall or spring semester, students may drop courses in Eagle Online through the Drop Form Request. In order to add a class after Eagle Online closes, students must obtain the instructor's signature and their advisor's signature on a Drop / Add form and turn it in to the Registrar's Office. Before dropping any course, students with any financial aid should consult with the Financial Aid Office to make certain that any scholarships, loans, or grants will not be adversely affected. - » How do I become a teacher if I already have a bachelor degree?The Post Baccalaureate Licensure Program is for those who have completed a bachelor degree, but are not licensed to teach.
- » How do I add an endorsement to my teaching license? You will be required to pass additional Praxis II tests, and depending on your current teaching license and the endorsement(s) you would like to add, you may be required to complete additional coursework. Your advisor can help you with this process. You can find additional information about this in the Office of Teacher Education.
