College Town Weekends is a promotion that combines both on-campus and off-campus events into one list so students can easily find weekend activities of interest. Students are encouraged to take advantage of all that Tech and the surrounding community have to offer. After all, Cookeville is Tennessee’s college town!

Join a winter night hike for a 2.5-mile trek around the Wolf Creek inlet, guided by the first full moon of the year. Flashlights are only used in cloudy weather. Dress warmly, and bring boots, a flashlight, or headlamp. Donations range from $5 to $20.

The Tennessee Winter Open Chess Tournament, sponsored by the Tennessee Chess Association, offers a $2,450 prize fund based on 60 paid entries. Various start times as the tournament runs all day.

Hop onto Eagles Outdoors ski bus to go hit the slopes at Ober Mountain in Gatlinburg this winter! Spend the day skiing or snowboarding at Ober Mountain, a great spot for both beginners and experienced skiers and snowboarders. Note: This program does not cover the cost of lift tickets or rental equipment. Meet at the Fitness Center at 6:45 AM. Leave by 7:00 AM.
