Once admitted to Tennessee Tech, orientation is the next important step toward Fall semester!
About Orientation
As a new transfer student to Tech, we hope to make your transition as smooth as possible. Because every institution is different, Transfer Orientation will introduce you to life at Tech and resources available to you as a Golden Eagle.
All incoming transfer students admitted for the summer and fall semesters will receive an invitation to orientation via mail in mid-late March. To receive information and register for or complete orientation, new transfer students must be fully admitted to the University for the upcoming summer or fall terms.
If you need more information on how to apply to Tennessee Tech as a transfer student or about your application status, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at (931) 372-3888 or admissions@tntech.edu.
Transfer Orientation Options
All new transfer students to Tech must complete orientation as part of their enrollment process to the University. As a new transfer student, you have two options for orientation:
- Attending a one-day, on-campus orientation
- Completing online orientation
To better understand each program and which program may be the best fit for your transition to Tech, please review the information provided below.
- » On-Campus Orientation
We offer two (2) on-campus orientation sessions for new transfer students. Transfer students will receive an orientation invitation in April providing instructions on how and when to register for one of these on-campus sessions. For more information about this option, please visit our Transfer Orientation Agenda site.
On-campus Transfer Orientation dates for 2024 are:
- Friday, May 17
- Friday, July 19
Note: There is no fee for new transfer students to attend on-campus orientation. There is a $15 fee for each guest registered to attend.
- » Online Orientation
In your orientation invitation, you will be provided instructions for our online transfer orientation option. This option provides transfer students with a brief introduction to the University, offers insight on campus resources you will have access to, and provides a glimpse into student life at Tech.
This program is designed for incoming transfer students who:
- Live more than 100 miles from campus
- Are transferring from another institution with 30 or more credit hours
- Are returning to school after a significant break in their education
- Have full-time work or family commitments
- Are planning to take online classes only
- Students usually complete online transfer orientation within 45 minutes to 1 hour.
