Costs & Financial Aid
Each MBA course is 3 credit hours. Part-time students take anywhere from 3-6 hours per semester, while full-time students take anywhere from 9-12 hours per semester.

Both the on-campus and online programs qualify for employer reimbursement. State Employees: The differential of the cost between campus-based and online courses is not covered by the state reimbursement plan.
- Graduate Assistantships
Several competitive graduate assistantships are available through the MBA program. Graduate assistants work 280 hours per semester and can be compensated in one of two ways, at the discretion of the College of Business:
1) The College may waive 100% of all tuition and fees and pay a monthly stipend* during the fall and spring semesters ONLY, for one academic year.
2) The College may waive 50% of all tuition and fees and pay a monthly stipend* during the fall, spring, and summer semesters for one calendar year.
*The amount of the stipend will vary based on the assistantship received.

Applications for assistantships beginning in the Fall will need to be completed before the end of the Spring semester. The preferred deadline is April 1, but positions are open until filled.
Each year one graduate assistant is selected to serve as Mayberry Chair of Excellence Assistant. This graduate assistant will serve on the Tennessee Quality Award (TQA) Board of Examiners, prepare the Mayberry Newsletter, teach the Tennessee Quality Award process to MBA and undergraduate classes, develop and maintain websites for the Mayberry Chair and the Tennessee Quality Award, and organize the Mayberry Board meetings.
- Diversity Fellowships
In order to become eligible for a diversity fellowship, applicants must be admitted in full standing to the Tennessee Tech Graduate School, demonstrate appreciation for and commitment to diversity, and meet at least two of the following criteria:
- Belong to an underrepresented racial/ethnic minority group (African-Americans/Blacks, Hispanics, American Indians/Alaskan Native, and Pacific Islanders)
- Be a resident of one of the educationally underserved/underrepresented areas
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and belong to an underrepresented/underserved gender in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, business, and nursing
- Demonstrate character, motivation and ability to succeed in graduate studies based on academic record and a written essay.
- Scholarships
Each fall, select graduate students are awarded scholarships from the College of Business Board of Trustees (COBBOT). Recipients are selected by the College of Business GA and Scholarship Selection Committee.
COBBOT is a great asset to the College and has helped many students. Since 1975, they have provided more than almost two million dollars in annual and endowed scholarships to business students. They have helped over 1,500 College of Business students to fulfill their dreams of graduation.
- Financial Aid
As a graduate student at Tennessee Tech, you may be qualified to receive numerous types of financial aid. You must fill out the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 each year, to receive money for the coming academic year.
It is also possible for a graduate student to qualify for work study, depending what the FAFSA determines your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) to be for the 2023-2024 academic year OR Student Aid Index (SAI) for the 2024-2025 academic year. While most graduate students that are US citizens or permanent residents are eligible for loans only, don't let that stop you from filling out the FAFSA on the web. Filling out the FAFSA is your most important step in determining your financial aid eligibility.
