About the Department
The Department of Physics at Tennessee Technological University promotes the learning of physics through two high-quality programs of study leading to a B.S. in Physics, minors in both Physics and Astronomy, and also through introductory courses in physics and astronomy that are requirements for other degree programs, or are used by students to fulfill general education science requirements.
Several elements contribute to the high levels of achievement of our graduates, including a family atmosphere in the department, rigorous programs of study, and the involvement of all physics majors in a genuine research experience. Alumni overwhelmingly report a high degree of satisfaction with their preparation.
