Research Opportunities
Do research in the summer - and get paid!
The Tennessee Tech Physics Department was one of the first in the nation to involve undergraduate students in genuine research, and continues to do so. Undergraduate students may earn $2,000 or more per summer as research assistants, while sharing in the excitement of cutting-edge research..
Opportunities are generally available working with faculty in various areas of nuclear and fundamental physics, as well as as in physics education. Participation can involve travel to dedicated research labs (both in the U.S and abroad), bringing students into contact with outstanding professional physicists from many leading institutions. As a result of their involvement, many students have co-authored articles in prestigious research journals and have presented papers on their research at national conferences.
