Meeting with the AIO

If your instructor has filed an Academic Integrity Violation Charging Document with the university, the AIO emails you a copy of the document and ask you to schedule a meeting with her.

Schedule the appointment as soon as possible because you must meet with the AIO within five business days after the charging document is sent to your @tntech.edu email address. If you have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from meeting with the AIO, email AIO@tntech.edu to explain your situation. If you do not meet with the AIO, you cannot appeal the charge, and all recommended penalties go into effect. See Policy 216 (section VI.I.1.) for additional implications.

Meeting with the AIO is to help you navigate the process. She walks you through the alleged violation, what happens next and how to appeal if desired. During your meeting with the AIO, you should ask questions to be sure you understand your appeal options and their implications.

Be sure to review the Procedures Overview and the Student Procedures & Deadlines for information about the rest of the process.
